You can select files of any type - documents, images, videos, etc.

Set Compression Options

After selecting your files, you can configure the compression options:

  • Compression Level: Choose between "Fast" (less compression, quicker process) or "Best" (maximum compression, slower process).
  • Password Protection: If you want to secure your ZIP file, check the "Add password protection" box and enter a strong password.
Remember your password! If you forget it, you'll need to use our Password Recovery tool to access your files.

Smaller archives generally process faster than very large ones.

General Best Practices

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Solutions to problems you might encounter

Our tool has a maximum file size limit of 500MB. If you're trying to upload larger files, try:

  • Splitting your files into smaller batches
  • Compressing individual large files first
  • Using a desktop application for very large files

The compression time depends on several factors:

  • File size and quantity - larger files take longer
  • Compression level - "Best" compression takes longer than "Fast"
  • Your internet connection speed
  • Your device's processing power

If it's taking too long, try using "Fast" compression or processing fewer files at once.

Some browsers don't allow selecting entire folders in the file picker. To work around this:

  • Select all files within the folder instead
  • Use Chrome or Edge browsers which have better folder selection support
  • Compress the folder on your device first, then upload it if you need to add password protection

This error typically occurs when:

  • The file is corrupted or incomplete
  • The file is not actually a ZIP or RAR archive despite the extension
  • You're trying to extract an unsupported archive format (we only support ZIP and RAR)

Try downloading the archive again from the source or check if it's in a supported format.

If you're getting an incorrect password error:

  • Double-check for typos in your password
  • Ensure caps lock is not enabled accidentally
  • Try any alternative passwords you might have used
  • If you've forgotten the password, use our Password Recovery tool

If you're having trouble downloading extracted files:

  • Check if your browser is blocking downloads (look for notifications)
  • Ensure you have sufficient storage space on your device
  • Try using a different browser
  • For large files, ensure your internet connection is stable

Password recovery can be time-consuming, especially for complex passwords. Here's what to know:

  • The process may take several minutes to complete
  • More complex passwords take longer to recover
  • Keep the browser window open during the entire process
  • If it's taking more than 15 minutes, you may want to try again later

Not all passwords can be recovered. This depends on:

  • Password complexity - very complex passwords may be unrecoverable
  • Encryption strength - some archives use stronger encryption that's harder to crack
  • Archive format - some formats have better protection than others

If our tool can't recover your password, you may need to try remembering it or consider the file inaccessible.

If you're having trouble with the human verification step:

  • Ensure you're completing the captcha correctly
  • Try refreshing the page and attempting the verification again
  • Disable any ad blockers or privacy extensions that might interfere
  • Try using a different browser
